Conferences
International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation (ISSAC): Sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Symbolic and Algebraic Manipulation, this is the premier international conference on computer algebra.
ISSAC 2003 was held at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. ISSAC 2004 will be held on July 4–7, 2004, at the University of Cantabria in Santander, Spain.
International Conference on Applications of Computer Algebra (ACA): As the title suggests, this conference focuses on applications of computer algebra.
ACA 2003 was held in Raleigh, North Carolina. ACA 2004 will be held on July 22–24, 2004, in Beaumont, Texas.
East Coast Computer Algebra Day (ECCAD): An annual one-day workshop that provides opportunities to learn and share new developments and to present research results in the area of Symbolic Computation.
ECCAD 2004 will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.
Algorithmic Number Theory Symposium (ANTS): The premiere conference on computational number theory.
ANTS V was held on July 7–12, 2002, in Sydney, Australia. ANTS VI will be held on June 13–18, 2004, at the U.S. Naval Acadamy in Annapolis, Maryland.
ACM Symposium on Theory of Computing (STOC): Sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Algorithms and Computation, this is one of the two major North American conferences in algorithms and complexity theory.
STOC '03 was recently held as part of the 2003 Federated Computing Research Conference, on June 7–14, 2003, in San Diego, California. STOC '04 will be held on June 13–15, 2004, in Chicago, Illinois.
IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science (FOCS): Sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society, this is the other major North American conference in algorithms and complexity theory.
FOCS 2003 will be held on October 11–14, 2003, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming (ICALP): Sponsored by the EATCS, this is the main European conference in theoretical computer science.
ICALP 2004 will be held on July 12-16, 2004, in Turku, Finland.
The SIGACT News Theory Calendar should be consulted for listings of additional conferences in theoretical computer science and for updated information.
