Description of the course

This course will present various techniques for learning various kinds of knowledge. This includes concept learning, decision trees and inductive logic programming, as well as reinforcement learning, analogy learning and case-based reasoning. We will also look at several methods for clustering.

In addition to presenting the foundations and basics of a method, we will also point out the components that can be improved using knowledge about the application a learning system is aimed for. This is also reflected in the course assignments that consist of applying a machine learning concept customized to an application area to a given set of experiences in this application area.
