Backups

We perform daily backups Monday through Sunday. One of these dailies is archived at the beginning of each month and called a “monthly”. Undergrad monthlies are kept for 18 months while Grad/Research/Faculty monthlies are kept for 2.5 years.
Only data stored in your Unix home directory, on your W: drive (Windows) or in /home/archive will be backed up. Data stored elsewhere (on a local machine, in /home/scratch, etc.) will not be backed up.
In the event you require restoration of data, contact Technical Support with the pathname of the deleted files and the approximate date and time of their deletion. Please be aware that restoring data from tape may take more than 1 business day.
