Fees can be paid at the U of C Service Stop which is located in the MacKimmie Library Tower Block. Phone: (403) 210-7625. For additional information (such as online fee payment), please viist Enrolment Services Fees information page.
Registration
Come to the Computer Science Department as soon as possible and meet the Graduate Administrator, Lorraine Storey to obtain information about registration and getting started as a graduate student.
Health Insurance
Graduate students from other provinces must pay attention to the maintenance of health care benefits in their home province. For more details, contact the health care insurance agency in your home province. Graduate students have a Health and Dental Care Program. This program does not replace Alberta Health Care, which should be arranged on arrival, unless you are covered by another provincial health care plan.
Supervision
Generally, students are admitted to a specific research area and supervisor. Sometimes students are allocated an interim supervisor, and, within six months, move to a permanent supervisor. Meet with your advisor to discuss a program of study; talk regularly about your progress with him or her.
In the event that your supervisor takes a sabbatical or leave, you will be informed as early as possible. You and the supervisor must decide whether effective supervision can continue with the physical absence of the supervisor (i.e. by email, or visits by the student), or whether an interim supervisor on campus should be appointed. These arrangements must be approved by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
