The Department of Computer Science at the University of Calgary strives to be on the cutting edge within the world of computer science, with special emphasis on Visual and Interactive Computing, Quantum Computing and Cryptography, Distributed Systems and Algorithms, and Software Engineering.

The Graduate Program in the Department of Computer Science provides a well-supported, congenial and academically-stimulating environment for students. The Department offers programs leading to Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Computer Science, as well as M.Sc. in software engineering. Interdisciplinary programs can be set up with other departments and faculties.
